Winters in Hainan

To whom

can I recount my mind?

The sky in the South

――the bright and charming maid.

Her head became white

overnight.

The white hairs can’t be pulled apart,

the winter rain goes on and on.

The harbor is so wet,

evaporating the odor of sweat,

but some ships

are still setting sails,

and seagulls can be seen, sirens can be heard.

Vehicles in slickers and people in raincoats

are going and coming.

Against the cold current

trees and grass are trying hard to grow green.

With force-five wind, with force-six wind,

the threadlike rain is spinning crazily,

but in juveniles’ eyes

they are still sunshine.

In winters, Hainan

is quivering

with continuous recount

coming from the tropical rain.
